For this weeks #rarebitsocialstories I’m chatting with my favourite lingerie designer @abigailwalker_lingerie about how she uses Instagram to grow her business… ⠀
⠀
RS: Tell us about yourself and your business?⠀
AW: I’m Abigail Walker and I started Abigail Walker Lingerie about six months ago. I have studied fashion for just over 3 years and I felt myself always gravitating towards lingerie design as it was always my passion. During my final year of uni I decided to take the plunge and set up my own label where I could design and make lingerie that everyone can wear and enjoy.⠀
⠀
RS: How has social media helped your business to grow?⠀
AW: Social media has really helped kickstart my business and get my brand name out there. The Instagram business tool is amazing for helping me promote my posts and reach a wider audience. But the best thing about social media is being able to connect with other female run businesses and really support each other and find out what events are going on locally. This really helps to get our businesses out there!⠀
⠀
RS: Is there anything you’ve learnt about social media that you wish you knew when you started your business account?⠀
AW: I’ve enjoyed the process of learning as I go along, I am only now getting the hang of all the business features! ⠀
RS: Do you have a strategy that you use and do you follow a theme?⠀
AW: I just try and post everyday to keep connected with my customers! I have never been good at following a theme, I just post whatever is happening at the time. All my posts seem to work well together because I have my own aesthetic which I think shows on my feed. ⠀
⠀
RS: What are your favourite Instagram accounts to follow for inspiration?⠀
AW: All female run businesses give me inspiration as I find it so empowering seeing other women doing well! I love inspirational quotes and sharing them with my followers, accounts such as @girlsbuildingempires and @themayfairgroup have amazing feeds.⠀
